{"id":67,"date":"2014-06-28T07:21:00","date_gmt":"2014-06-28T12:21:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogtest.cowebtech.ca\/?p=67"},"modified":"2019-10-03T08:50:29","modified_gmt":"2019-10-03T13:50:29","slug":"termessos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.cowell.ca\/?p=67","title":{"rendered":"Termessos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Termessos is an ancient city that is still mostly well preserved. &nbsp;It is around 30km North of Antayla. &nbsp;It&#8217;s hard to get to by public transport, so a car is a good idea.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The most well preserved part is the theatre.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/-oRNAaZe8U2c\/U65s6QikaoI\/AAAAAAAAHLk\/Yu6FhCkWSyI\/s1600\/blogger-image-725890504.jpg\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/-oRNAaZe8U2c\/U65s6QikaoI\/AAAAAAAAHLk\/Yu6FhCkWSyI\/s1600\/blogger-image-725890504.jpg\"><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\">I have been to ancient theatres before, but never one that you could explore all of it on your own. &nbsp;Most of them are closed off to prevent further damage, but here you can walk around.<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\">The site was fairly quiet with only a few other tourists. &nbsp;After you park you car, there is about a 2km hike uphill to get to this site, which seems to put people off a bit. &nbsp;You can continue walking uphill for another 2km and you will reach a fire tower with a good view back to Antalya. &nbsp;Make sure to take plenty drinking water as there is none on the trail.<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\">After I finished here, I went across the road to see Karain cave. &nbsp;It is said that the cave had people living in it 25,000 years ago. &nbsp;There is not much evidence of this left in the cave, as archeologists have moved a lot of the artifacts away to be studied. &nbsp;They have installed creepy coloured lights to aid in your visit!<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\">\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/-yvoAyqei_R0\/U65s42md0xI\/AAAAAAAAHLc\/NOeL19Mc99Q\/s1600\/blogger-image-1593420739.jpg\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/-yvoAyqei_R0\/U65s42md0xI\/AAAAAAAAHLc\/NOeL19Mc99Q\/s1600\/blogger-image-1593420739.jpg\"><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\">The cave is 10km away from Termessos and is really in the middle of nowhere. &nbsp;The road signs are quite good at directing you there though. &nbsp;Once you park, there are 300 or so steps that you must climb to get into the cave!<\/div>\n<p><\/div>\n<p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Termessos is an ancient city that is still mostly well preserved. &nbsp;It is around 30km North of Antayla. &nbsp;It&#8217;s hard to get to by public transport, so a car is a good idea.
