{"id":63,"date":"2014-07-03T12:29:00","date_gmt":"2014-07-03T17:29:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogtest.cowebtech.ca\/?p=63"},"modified":"2019-10-03T08:50:47","modified_gmt":"2019-10-03T13:50:47","slug":"ephesus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.cowell.ca\/?p=63","title":{"rendered":"Ephesus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of Turkey&#8217;s biggest attractions is Ephesus which is an ancient city that is still being unearthed by archaeologists. &nbsp;The city was built by the Greeks, so you can see a lot of Greek architecture in the buildings.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lh6.googleusercontent.com\/-MsVx25BtUjA\/U7VMuOOwE4I\/AAAAAAAAHUk\/VBF1zL9aCoU\/s1600\/blogger-image--1299269271.jpg\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/lh6.googleusercontent.com\/-MsVx25BtUjA\/U7VMuOOwE4I\/AAAAAAAAHUk\/VBF1zL9aCoU\/s1600\/blogger-image--1299269271.jpg\"><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\">One of the buildings that is left standing is a huge theatre. &nbsp;The acustics are great inside and as you enter you often here people practicing their singing voice; some are better than others!<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\">\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\">\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/-sstAiYE9cqE\/U7VMscg1-sI\/AAAAAAAAHUc\/U3IEFkhbifw\/s1600\/blogger-image--1790761409.jpg\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/-sstAiYE9cqE\/U7VMscg1-sI\/AAAAAAAAHUc\/U3IEFkhbifw\/s1600\/blogger-image--1790761409.jpg\"><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\">You can see dig sites and people working all around. &nbsp;It&#8217;s a large tourist attraction, but I felt it was big enough that you didn&#8217;t feel like there was too much of a crowd.<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\">You can see the ruins of a large library, that is said to be one of the biggest that the Greeks built. &nbsp;It was supposedly connected by an underground passage to a brothal so they men could sneak across unnoticed by their wives!<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\">You can see the brothal (at least the ruins) and a footprint and a arrow in the cement which is apparently the first advertisement in the world (I&#8217;m somewhat sceptical on that one).<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\">The site needs 2 hours of so and it&#8217;s very hot, so bring plenty of water and sunscreen as there is little shade.<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\">Up the road is the church of Mary. &nbsp;It is said that Mary spent the last years of her life living here and died in this area. &nbsp;There is a mass there that you can attend, or you can join the masses of tourists walking through the small church taking pictures! &nbsp;It&#8217;s a unique site and worth a look.<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\">Between the two sights is a large statue of Mary beside the road.<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\">\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/-hX4b1qMIUhw\/U7VNRaIG-5I\/AAAAAAAAHU0\/Ab8PSFjdMIg\/s1600\/blogger-image--560469441.jpg\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/-hX4b1qMIUhw\/U7VNRaIG-5I\/AAAAAAAAHU0\/Ab8PSFjdMIg\/s1600\/blogger-image--560469441.jpg\"><\/a><\/div>\n<p><\/div>\n<p><\/div>\n<p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One of Turkey&#8217;s biggest attractions is Ephesus which is an ancient city that is still being unearthed by archaeologists. &nbsp;The city was built by the Greeks, so you can see a lot of Greek architecture in the buildings.
