{"id":107,"date":"2014-05-15T09:04:00","date_gmt":"2014-05-15T14:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogtest.cowebtech.ca\/?p=107"},"modified":"2019-10-02T14:44:07","modified_gmt":"2019-10-02T19:44:07","slug":"island-hopping","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.cowell.ca\/?p=107","title":{"rendered":"Island hopping"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My time in El Nido is coming to a close and it has gone so fast. &nbsp;I spent two days island hopping. &nbsp;Basically you get in a boat and it takes you to some good places for snorkeling and kayaking as well as swimming and just relaxing on the beach.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lh6.googleusercontent.com\/-qYsyV6k50nE\/U3SDBZBI6vI\/AAAAAAAAFkQ\/wS0U37wiMlc\/s1600\/blogger-image-872408097.jpg\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/lh6.googleusercontent.com\/-qYsyV6k50nE\/U3SDBZBI6vI\/AAAAAAAAFkQ\/wS0U37wiMlc\/s1600\/blogger-image-872408097.jpg\"><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\">This is called Helicopter Island because it sort of looks like a helicopter (you may have to use your imagination).&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\">The great thing about El Nido is that it is a largely untouched tourist destination, because it is hard to get to. &nbsp;For this reason the waters are very clean and clear so it makes it a great place to see fish and coral.<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\">\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/-R5wSnefsHIU\/U3SDE97hrZI\/AAAAAAAAFkY\/wFkr8cactzY\/s1600\/blogger-image--445145185.jpg\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/-R5wSnefsHIU\/U3SDE97hrZI\/AAAAAAAAFkY\/wFkr8cactzY\/s1600\/blogger-image--445145185.jpg\"><\/a><\/div>\n<p><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\">You can see the water here. &nbsp;In many places I had schools of fish follow me while snorkeling and at one point I saw a giant turtle. &nbsp;Hopefully the place stays like this, but some people are concerned that as more tourists get here they will damage the coral and hurt the environment. &nbsp;I guess only time will tell.<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\">\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lh6.googleusercontent.com\/-9UzLLETRLbY\/U3SC-ezs4dI\/AAAAAAAAFkI\/NwPpERguU40\/s1600\/blogger-image--744606471.jpg\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/lh6.googleusercontent.com\/-9UzLLETRLbY\/U3SC-ezs4dI\/AAAAAAAAFkI\/NwPpERguU40\/s1600\/blogger-image--744606471.jpg\"><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\">This is the kind of boat that you take. &nbsp;It&#8217;s covered at the top, but in rainy conditions pretty much everyone gets wet. &nbsp;It is possible to take this kind of boat to Coron, the northern most tip of Palawan. &nbsp;That trip however takes 8 hours and I am told in bad weather it can be really rough!<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\">For myself, I must now head back to Puerto to catch my flight into Manila and then onto Osaka.<\/div>\n<p><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My time in El Nido is coming to a close and it has gone so fast. &nbsp;I spent two days island hopping. &nbsp;Basically you get in a boat and it takes you to some good places for snorkeling and kayaking &hellip;
